The First Years Bottle Nipple Brush
I keep on buying these bottle brushes because they clean our baby’s bottles well and they are cheap, but they are not very durable. The handle plastic ends up breaking after about a month or two of use. Then I have to buy a new one.
I like the foam cleaner part and the nipple bush in the handle–both are great for cleaning our bottles.

My wife and I have tried several bottle brushes and this one cleans the best for us. Despite its serious design flaws, we will be buying this brush again because it’s the best out there; all the rest are garbage.
Pros:
1. Attached nipple brush – cleans really well (great for breast pump parts too)
2. Different textured sponges and brushes clean bottles and bottle parts really well
Cons:
1. Plastic bridge between bottle brush and handle breaks very easily. We go through brushes every 2-3 weeks because of this poor design flaw (maybe the company wants their brushes to only last a few weeks).
2. Nipple brush can fall out (unscrew) of its housing. This only happened once or twice, but it was still frustrating.

I found this brush when I had my first child 3 years ago. I had to try several others because I needed a new brush and couldn’t find this one in the stores. They were all too flimsy, too big or lacked a small enough nipple brush to be useful. I came back to this one. Great for cleaning pump equipment too.

Love this brush for cleaning my bottles and pump parts – it fits in the nipple guard and narrower breastmilk storage bottles much better than other brushes I’ve used. Like other reviewers, the neck between the handle and brush broke after 2 1/2 weeks of using it – but I keep rebuying it because it fits in all my bottle/nipple/pump pieces.
I have also purchased the deluxe Munchkin brush, and the bristles are so stiff it won’t fit inside most of my bottle parts like this one.

We’ve been buying this bottle brush since 2008 and have come to love it. However, within the past 6 months we’ve noticed that the quality has gone way down. The nipple brushes are more wiggly, but that’s not a huge issue. Much more serious is the recent tendency of the brush’s plastic handle to snap in half right at the seam where the fat part meets the skinny “wand” part. We’ve had to return three brushes due to this same defect in 2010 already. The last one didn’t even last 2 weeks. Proceed with caution. I also emailed the manufacturer, First Years, and their (tepid) response was simply to let the retailer (Amazon) resolve things. That doesn’t seem adequate or fair, but it’s by far the easiest option.
